I'm actually confused about this whole issue. I seem to remember a thread a while ago about people getting banned from his server because they were on teams or something? And what's the whole stats deal? A quick refresher would be nice.

Quote from ZeroDexter :I may be wrong but I think when the tyres get dirty, it doesn't simulate which part of the tyre actually touched the dirt, but rather it makes the "whole tyre" dirty - d'uh hard to explain.

I mean, if only the outside of a tyre touches the dirt, only that part should have less grip - much like tyre heat and wear is done - so it should at least be split up into 'outer, middle, inner', maybe even on 48 different points around the tyre, like for heat and wear....

does anybody know what i'm talking about?

It is simulated as to what part of the circumfrence of the tire is dirty, you can check this by getting your tires dirty and then locking them up on pavement, the part that locked up will be scrubbed clean, while the rest of the tire is dirty. I'm not sure if it simulates whether it's the outer, middle, or inner part of the tire though. That would be pretty cool though

Quote from MadCatX :Today I got a nice idea I think. What about to make something like an Forum racing school? It can be a stand-alone thread where will pro's post their replays with good laps and some desrciption to it. They could give some commentary to that parts of track that plays main role when trying to drive a fast lap, and explain the ideal way how to drive throught them.
Also the "LFS students" can post their laps here, and pro's can give them some advices, tell them what they're doing bad, what they can improve and how.

If apologize if something like this alredy exists, I don't know about it....

(Training in LFS isn't enough, when you don't know WHERE are you screwing up you laps and WHAT you have to do with it)

That sounds like a great idea to me  I'm not the fastest, but I'd be happy to help out with anything. If you ever see a (NASSA) member on a server, don't hesitate to ask for help or a setup or anything

IMO, kb drifting is easier than with a wheel, you try grabbing 720 degrees of lock sometimes, and tell me

Hey, thanks for hosing a TBO @ Blackwood server, one of the very very few TBO servers. It's actually had people in it, lots of people usually (amazingly enough.) I'd forgotton how much fun TBO pickup races were I just wanted to say thanks for hosting this server, it's definately become my new favorite server

Quote from 5th Earth :Look at the bright side--as the only car in your class, you're guaranteed first place.

I should try it sometime, it does look and sound like a lot of fun. It'd be entertaining to see if I could actually fit my car through some of the tighter corners, but yes, I'd be guaranteed a win LOL

Hey guys and welcome to LFS You will love it here, I'm sure. I've been playing racing sims since I was old enough to use a computer (4 I think,) and Live for Speed is currently the only one I have installed, it's totally, completely and utterly addicting.
Have Fun!!

P.S. About the wife/gf not liking LFS, don't count it out. My girlfriend loves LFS. I just ordered her a Logitech DFP for christmas so she'd stop stealing mine

My car is 3500lbs, 209in long, and has a 113in wheelbase. It also has an automatic transmission. Sure I -could- autocross it, but I'd get laughed at. (1998 Chrysler Concorde)

You probably have fun with the XF GTR on Autocross Looks like a fun car, I've always wanted to do autocross, but my car isn't exactly suited for it, at all.
Have fun and Congrats

I had a question too, how come sometimes you get a stop/go penalty and sometimes you get a 45sec time penalty?

Nice Vid Vendetta. And hey, I actually thought it was a pretty good pass. And you're happy with yourself, and that's the most important thing. Keep having fun and keep improving

Quote from Fonnybone :The demo has all what the 'full'
game has except maybe that autocross editor, but between you and me,
no one is buying S1-S2 just because there's an autocross editor

Not surprisingly, lots of SCCA guys think that LFS is THE definitive Solo II simulator, so there are people that love the autocross part
